Jen, you have such a beautiful blog and I just love to come and see all your photos! Makes me jealous that I live NO WHERE NEAR where you live!
Hi, wow….what a beautiful web site. When I have a bit more time Jen, I’m going to go thru it and read about what you’re doing, etc.
I’m a bit behind in posting on mine and I actually have two of them. My fav is the garden of course and the other one is for my biz as a Loan Officer doing Reverse Loans for seniors.
My garden is starting to bloom a bit, as we had some unseasonably warm weather a few weeks ago, here in southern CA.
The Ceanothus, some blubs and sages have started blooming. Also my Howard McMinn Manzanita…it has samll pink flowers on it.
Now, thank goodness, we’re having rain which we desperately need and it’s gotten pretty cold in the mornings with the water in the birdbath freezing.
I’ll catch up with you later. We certainly are at the opposite extremes of gardening, aren’t we?
Lorraine
Lovely website. Nothing compares to gardening – agreed!
What a beautiful site! I will definitely return to learn more growing tips. I have so much shade in my yard – I’d love to find some tips on growing some exotic fern 🙂

LOVING your blog! Being an expat of Victoria, I always look forward to the park and garden references from my old home. I have no garden of my own, so your posts help me keep the flower knowledge I gained while working at the Butchart Gardens fresh again. Thanks!
Great information: especially liked the blog on lavender as I am trying several varieties in my garden in Victoria. I have lost a couple of them, but in general they are doing fine. I prepared my clay soil with dug in coarse sand and organic matter for drainage, then put shells around them to add calcium and keep the soil sweet.
I have also planted some in sandy soil in Parksville and they have done very well in the hot dry summers there, plus they are one of the few plants that the deer don’t like.
Thanks –
Jennifer,
I love your blog!
